Traction Control Technology in Cars

Traction Control System or Anti-Slip Regulation system generally refers to the system that allows the driver and passenger to enjoy the ride even if the road is bumpy or un-built. It was initially launched and developed in the year 1985 at the laboratories of the Report Bosch Company in Germany. It was developed along with two other useful technologies namely, anti-lock brakes system (1978) and stability control system (1955).

Traction Control is the fastest growing technology that is installed in almost every vehicle these days. It is an advanced automotive feature that ensures the complete safety and security of the person sitting in the car. It offers the driver the benefit of experiencing a smooth and comfortable ride as the technology absorbs all the shocks and effects that are produced while driving the vehicle. It also helps the car in improving the vehicle’s capability to match the road.

Above all, its main aim is to maintain your as well as your family’s safety. It keeps a tab on the adhesive friction between the tires and the road. While driving, various kinds of tractions happen. When we apply brakes, one kind of traction occurs. While accelerating the car a different traction takes place and while we take a turn, a third kind of traction happens. The TCS deals specially with the friction loss that happens in both the front and back areas while we accelerate the car.

In other words, the friction that takes place while resuming to drive a vehicle after it had stopped dead for a long time or when we increase the speed of the vehicle while we are overtaking any other vehicle, is controlled and monitored by the traction control system that immediately tries to maximize the contact between the road and the tires of the vehicle. Even if the road is not properly constructed or includes bumps and pot-holes, the traction control system lets you manage the car perfectly well.

This technology improves the driving experience on the road and mainly focuses on improving the contact between the road and the tires of the vehicle. It is the best safety feature that has become a mandatory feature in every other vehicle available now-a-days. Even the biggest automotive manufacturers like Daimler Chrysler, Volkswagen, BMW, Lexus, Porsche, Audi, Volvo, Ford, Saab and Inifniti are equipping this updated technology in their automobiles.

It is highly recommended that if you wish to buy any new vehicle then make sure that it comes fitted with the traction control system or you might be left feeling only the jerks while driving and won’t be able to feel the actual magic of the drive.
