Popularity of Hybrid Cars
Research shows that million of dollars are spent each year on the development and production of efficient fuel consumption cars. Many automobile companies are rolling out cars from their production units. Therefore, there is an urgent need to take steps to reduce the fuel consumption of automobiles.
There is great pressure on these automobiles companies to develop different types of cars which don’t affect the atmosphere by releasing toxic gases. The one invention is hybrid cars which are more environmental friendly and consume less fuel. They are considered to be an alternative way of saving our natural resources.
The hybrid cars consist of two engines; one is a gasoline engine while the other is an electric engine. These two engines work one after the other. The gasoline engine is used to start and stop the car where as the electric engine takes over after the car achieves a certain speed. As these do not work together, so the gasoline engine is also used to charge the electric engine’s batteries.
The two types of hybrid cars that exist in the current market are series and parallels. The parallel hybrid cars are preferred for long distance traveling. These are produced by using light weight materials which helps in reducing the load when traveling. The hybrid cars require less energy which helps in saving more fuel. The tires are more rigid with higher tire pressure which enables to increase its fuel efficiency. The consumption is fifty to sixty percent less than conventional cars. These are the reasons which have given much preference to these cars over other vehicles. They are becoming the choice of many consumers all over the world. They are also getting support from the government by means of loans and other subsidies.
The hybrid cars do not only reduce the air pollution but are also capable of reducing noise pollution. The reason behind this advantage is that the electric motor does not create any noise while on the move. People who are planning to buy hybrid cars will be saving their own money and also will be protecting the environment.
