Ford Fusion Gains The No.1 Position in the U.S.
Ford Fusion has been in the market since some five years. Though it didn’t enjoy much attention from potential buyers in the beginning but as of now it has been gaining an increasing significance in terms of its number of customers. It is soon expected to gain the number 1 position in the United States of America for the year 2010. It has already made it to the top 10 vehicles that are widely popular and used in the U.S. In the U.S., the Ford Fusion is the best selling domestic car excluding trucks right now.
The year 2010 Ford Fusion proves to be the biggest achievement of Ford as the car comes with impressive high performance features that help it in maintaining proper fuel-efficiency and usage. Ford Fusion has been redesigned and installed with these features that make it better and efficient than the previous models of Ford. The mid-size sedan is completely user-friendly and environment friendly. It features a sporty-cum-luxurious look that makes it a go-grabber. All this makes it the best vehicle in its segment in today’s date.
Ford Fusion has enjoyed record-breaking sales in recent times, since the model has been redesigned. The hybrid car is now capturing most of the market and buyers, who were earlier opting for imported brands like Toyota and Honda, are now getting attracted more and more to the Fusion. More than 60% of buyers are now opting for the Fusion instead of these brands.
In the first 10 months of the current year, Fusion has reported sales of a total of 151,137 units, whereas in the year 2007, the sales had been reported at 149,552 units. The increased sales are a consequence of its new look and the latest fuel-efficiency technology that makes it more appealing in comparison to other hybrids like Toyota and Honda. These technologies are very much in demand by consumers these days and are available in the high end models like the Fusion Hybrid, Sport and SEI.
Ford’s industry sales have been the lowest since the 1980s but they are on a massive high this time. George Pipas, who is the Ford Sales Analyst, said that, “It’s extraordinary that a car could set a sales record in an environment where the overall industry sales are down by 26 percent from a year ago.”
The Ford Fusion offers high-class technologies like Blind Spot Information System and Ford SYNC, has more spacious interiors and also has more cargo space to accommodate extra luggage. Since the first quarter of the year 2005, this has helped the Ford Fusion to record the first quarterly profit.
