Drive Your Car In a Green Way
No, we are not talking about the color of your car! We are talking about driving in color! Of course, you love your car, as well as the freedom and individuality it gives you. But, did you realize that this comes at a cost. If you have been polluting your environment or global warming, the issue of driving green might have struck your mind!
Did you know, the way that you drive and use your vehicle can have a huge impact on our environment or on carbon dioxide levels? Nothing but you can only help your environment become livable for your next generation by contributing a little. You can also save on gasoline while helping your community to breathe clean air. So, be an eco-friendly and responsible citizen especially while driving your vehicles. Here are some easy ways to help you driving green:
- Like your body, your car also needs some make up. Change of tires and oil is very much important for your car.
- Maintain regular inspection of your car. And for that it needs a reliable mechanic or a repair shop. Drop your car sometimes to your auto mechanic for check up and tune-up.
- Clean your car on a regular basis in order to make it run in better condition. In the same way, also check its oil if it is clean and if the brake is working as it should.
- Always remember, less stopping and starting means less emission of carbon dioxide. Every time you stop and then start again in a traffic queue, the engine uses more fuel and result is that it produces more carbon dioxide. Therefore, keep an eye on the traffic ahead and slow down your car early by gently lifting your foot off the accelerator while keeping the car in gear.
- Driving at an appropriate speed also reduces emission of carbon dioxide. Don’t accelerate your car too much between 55 mph and 75 mph. You should never exceed the speed limit. Staying at or within the speed limit also increases driver’s safety.
- Avoid idling of your car. Idling a car for only 20 seconds burns more gas and emits more carbon dioxide than simply turning it off and starting it up again when you are actually ready to drive.
