The list of sports car increased with the release of the Nissan GT-R. Created by Nissan, the model falls among many other impressive sports cars. The successor of Nissan Skyline GT-R, Nissan GT-R is the latest creation of Nissan Motors. On 6th December 2007, this was released in Japan and almost after 6 months that was in July 2008, Nissan GT-R was seen hitting the roads of the United States. The rest of the world got to experience the joy of the Nissan GT-R after almost a year in March of 2009.
Nissan GT-R is all set to compete with the major players of its category. Nissan GT-R reflects a very stylish look. The designing part shows the importance given to both the functional and instrumental aspect. The simple and clear instruments are placed in such a way that they are easily accessible for the driver. There is a tachometer installed that displays the gearshift position. The best part of the Nissan GT-R is that it gives detailed information regarding the driving and manual behavior. Japanese automaker, Nissan has unveiled its ambitious plans for India. It is said that the company is setting up a car plant in Chennai under a joint venture with Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd. Nissan will come up with nine models by 2012 out of which five will be locally made because the company is looking to obtain about 5% market share here in the country. This is a great news for those who love to have latest and stylish cars.
Nissan along with its French auto giant, Renault is investing Rs4,500 crore in a car plant here for new cars production that will commence from May next year. In a conference, Nissan Motor Co. vice president Colin Dodge said, “We plan to have a total of nine models in the Indian market by 2012, of which five would be made in India.†(more…)

August proved to be a very difficult month for Toyota and the Detroit 3. Nissan Motor Co., on the other hand managed to post a solid gain in terms of its US Sales. Their sales are up 1 percent for the year to date. The company confirmed that its US sales rose by a huge margin of 13.6% in the month of August, to 108,493 vehicles, due to the increased demand for large trucks and SUVs.
Nissan-brand sales were up 14.2 percent to 97,417 vehicles in August, driven by a 32.6 percent jump in light-truck sales, Al Castignetti, who is the vice president and general manager of Nissan Division, told Reuters. (more…)
