Nissan Reveals Its Expansion Plans For The Year 2012
Tuesday, October 6th, 2009Japanese automaker, Nissan has unveiled its ambitious plans for India. It is said that the company is setting up a car plant in Chennai under a joint venture with Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd. Nissan will come up with nine models by 2012 out of which five will be locally made because the company is looking to obtain about 5% market share here in the country. This is a great news for those who love to have latest and stylish cars.
Nissan along with its French auto giant, Renault is investing Rs4,500 crore in a car plant here for new cars production that will commence from May next year. In a conference, Nissan Motor Co. vice president Colin Dodge said, “We plan to have a total of nine models in the Indian market by 2012, of which five would be made in India.†(more…)
